  Earth Ethics Institute (EEI) Sustainability and SENCER Challenge

 

 

 


The EEI Sustainability & SENCER challenge offers MDC faculty the opportunity to apply
for a $300 implementation award to support any modifications/adjustments necessary
to employ the SENCER approach through a Global Sustainability and Earth Literacy Studies (GSELS) lens
in a Fall 2014 class. 

 

Nine applicants will be chosen to receive this award. 

Requirements:

 - Participate in one of the EEI/ CTD SENCER workshops

              1- Experiential Learning and the SENCER Approach

              2- SENCER and Working with Community Partners

 - Propose employment of the SENCER approach in one or more Fall 2014 class

 - The unresolved issue of civic import through which class content is being taught should be related
   to sustainability and/or Earth Literacy  - see Global Sustainability and Earth Literacy Studies
    (
GSELS) Course Criteria  

 - Employ the SENCER Student Assessment of Learning Gains (SALG) assessment tool in a SENCER class 

 - Share results with the national SENCER assessment efforts as well as actively disseminate results
   within the SENCER community, on-campus and possibly beyond   

 - Deadline to apply: May 16th.
