GSELS: Transforming Paradigm
Awarding 6 hours of
professional development
credit
This workshop offers an overview of Earth Ethics
Institute’s Global Sustainability and Earth
Literacy Studies (GSELS) Learning Network.
Participants learn about development and
operations of GSELS. GSELS faculty learn how to
broaden their GSELS-designated courses to
include additional GSELS course criteria, as
well as best practices of faculty learning
communities. Participants explore Sustainable
Education, a concept created by Stephen Sterling
and described as “a change of educational
culture, one which develops and embodies the
theory and practice of sustainability in a way
which is critically aware."
Contrast will be
made of mechanistic versus ecological
worldviews, and a multidisciplinary
collaborative approach to education will be
endorsed.

WE-LAB Virtual Workshop
The Water
and Energy Learning and Behavior Program (WE-LAB),
focuses on delivering urgent
and highly relevant environmental education about the
water-energy nexus to South Florida residents, teachers,
and school children. Through educational and interactive
workshops, the WE-LAB seeks to motivate community-wide
water-energy-saving behaviors and foster long-term
environmental stewardship through money-saving actions.
WE-LAB participants will learn to track their water and
energy use at home and apply these new behaviors
learned, in order to take action and make improvements,
as well as learning how to properly recycle.
This event will be held twice, join us on one of the
