Education for Sustainability, Civic Engagement, and Intercultural Literacy
A Graduate Course offered in conjunction with Florida International University

EDF 6766 Education, The Environment, and Sustainable Futures (3 credits).
Facilitated by Professor Anouchka Rachelson

Most classes will be held at MDC InterAmerican Campus - Some field excursions - some on-line time as well.

January 2012--Fridays, January 20th - 2-4:30 pm  and January 27th - 2:30 - 5 pm
February 2012 - Fridays, February 17 and February 24 - 2-4:30 pm
March 2012 - Fridays, March 16 - Water Ethic Workshop, Earth Charter Workshop
                       March 30 - 2-4:30 pm, Saturday, March 24, 8-5 pm
April 2012 - Fridays April 13 and April 20, 2-4:30 pm, Saturday April 14 - 8-5 pm

This course presents an overview of issues in sustainable development, education, and the modern school. Efforts will be made to explore the roles that education and culture play in environmental degradation.
